Like A Kid On Christmas

January 30, 2012

I was like a kid on Christmas when I logged in to SL this evening to find some blogger goodies from coldLogic, the new brand I featured in my last post.  It was something I was not expecting, and I feel very honored to have been allowed an even bigger peek at coldLogic’s upcoming collection.  I sense some big things from this new designer brand, and I really think I have found a new favorite store (once it opens).

I just wanted to highlight an ensemble I put together quickly; I was eager to blog it.  I have another look in mind to blog for next time, so watch for it in the upcoming days!

So, in keeping it short and to the point…photo and credits below.

The Japanese Influence

November 7, 2011

I have always been entranced by Asian cultures and flavors.  I can barely remember a time when my eye wasn’t drawn to the feel and colors and attitudes of Asian design.  As prior posts have displayed, Indian or Southeast Asian clothing is something that interests me greatly; however, I also enjoy the look of Japanese touches as well.

When Modavia Fashion Week was in full force, I kept my eye on the Flickr and Plurk postings that were keeping the SL public updated on the hottest new fashion collections on the grid.  When I visited the Modavia sim to do some browsing, this outfit by .Shi caught my attention.  I try not to go crazy shopping at events like these, and I kept myself at bay for awhile.  Alas, I was not able to get the ensemble out of my head for the past few weeks.

This is how I know I am in love with something–I keep thinking about it.  I couldn’t hesitate anymore.

This lovely blouse and pants set is called “Chinoi.”  It is one of a collection of great garments made by Joy Laperriere.

Structurally, I think the designs of .Shi are fabulous.  The belt I am wearing for example, is a very thoughtful and well done representation of a sash belt on a kimono, or an obi.  The blouse as well has a hint of the kimono feel.  I shopped at NHA! to look for a couple of accessories  and found these earrings and feathered headband.  The headband I did modify slightly to make the band part invisible, as I just wanted the look of a fancy hair clip.

Welcome to the Desert

March 30, 2011

I was really feeling this corduroy mini skirt from League at the most recent Fifty Linden Friday.  It’s a cute and casual little number.  Newly released also were these camisoles also by League.  There were a number of rich neutrals and darker tones, but since I really do not have a lot of browns and tans in my inventory, I decided to buy the cami in cream, and the skirt in brown.  I bought the skirt in cream as well, but felt it was too monochromatic.

The hair is a new release from Elikatira.  A mid-length, casual style with one strand pulled back on the side secured by a color change bobby pin.  The jewelry is again from the past sale at Je Suis!

My location of choice here was at the desert themed sim of Tableau.  It really is an excellently designed location  perfect for some hot weather shots.  I needed some warmth (albeit warmth shown in a virtual sim).

Colorful Like A Poppy

January 18, 2011

There have been a lot of great shopping sales and events as of late, and I waited and waited for the Chic Limited event to finally open so I could grab some of these beautiful shoes from G-Field!  The style and color perfectly complimented the shape of this dress I bought from The Secret Store at the Euphoria End of Season Sale.

I strongly recommend wandering over to the Euphoria Sim and joining the group to keep in the loop regarding updates on future sales.  Many fantastic designers have shops there, and any time you make a purchase from any shop, you earn points for discounts.  It is definitely a slick rewards system, and it helps promote our favorite activity: SHOPPING!

This delicately constructed necklace was the most recent Fifty Linden Friday item from Miel.  It  looks incredibly realistic and dimensional and added the last bit of flair I wanted in my look.

Happy Holidays!

December 28, 2010

Originally, I thought I’d squeak out a blog post before Christmas, but unfortunately had some technical difficulties.  So…this is my holiday post!

I was unable to access SL on a machine that was truly equipped for it the entire time I was away at my family’s house.  This meant, no shopping, and no photos.  Sad, right?  Haha.  I could sometimes log in for about five minutes before SL froze up and kicked me off.  Anyway, I am home now and before I go anywhere again, I need to get my laptop’s wireless adapter checked.  No Wireless = No Fun.

Today’s look is all Zaara!  I have wanted one of the kurta sets for a long time, and chose the maroon and green color combo to fit the season.  I think the patterns and colors of all these available sets are very richly done, as all the Zaara clothing is.  A great part about the sets is that the pieces are all sold separately as well, so you can create your own kurta/churidar/dupatta color combination (tunic/pants/scarf).

One of the newest releases from Zaara are these jeweled mojris.  They are a bedazzling, cute set of flat footwear with a slightly pointed toe.  There is a vast color selection to choose from in store, and there is also a previously released version without the jewels.

NECKLACE:  Suvarna Necklace by Zaara

POSES:  Glitterati

One last thing before I sign off on this post…from myself, and my sweetie Zaap…Happy Holidays!
