The Karma of India Nadeau

Snow Queen

December 9, 2016

Snow Queen

Well, the cold snap has finally happened where I live, and it has been a dreaded time indeed. I’ve always loved the heat of Summer. Every year it gets more and more difficult to bear these subzero temps.

So, then why did I decide to make a wintery post? I only did it because I saw this gorgeous dress by Junbug at this round of Uber and immediately envisioned the dress as a majestic, snow queen, ensemble.

This is the first time I have bought anything by Junbug, but I’ve admired the brand for awhile. If you love beautiful dresses, definitely check Junbug out!

Black Friday Sassy

December 2, 2016

Sassy
Honestly, this outfit was meant more for the club than a stroll in the country…but, it’s a virtual world. My heels won’t be sinking in the dirt unless my hover height is set way off!

I hit the Black Friday sales last weekend with moderate restraint I guess. I mostly took advantage of the furniture store sales at Aria, The Loft, and gift card sales at Cheeky Pea and Trompe Loeil. For clothing I made sure to stop at ISON, where I purchased the black lace bralette and jeans, and Rowne, where I stumbled upon this sassy cropped blazer. Those two stores are becoming higher and higher on my favorites list!

While I was styling this outfit, I realized I couldn’t really find the perfect pair of shoes in my inventory (imagine that) so my last Black Friday stop was at Reign to grab the Chelsea Heels. Love them!

I also love Black Friday in SL! 🙂

What were some of your Black Friday purchases?

Boogie Woogie Bugle

November 10, 2016

India Nadeau in Fishy Strawberry

After the events this week in our country, I need a bit of distraction from my brain and emotions. I decided blogging this outfit and listening to 80’s music would be a good way to accomplish this–it’s true. It is definitely helping my mental faculties relax since I suppose you can consider SL quite an escape from reality!

Shopping is also good therapy…though I bought everything in this photo before Tuesday.

I don’t normally go for clothing with a military feel, but this outfit from Uber caught my eye. Fishy Strawberry did a wonderful job creating all three pieces. I think this might have been my first time buying a hat in Second Life in the 8.5 years I have been there. The great part about this one is that it’s color change!

It was fun going pose shopping for this outfit as well. The funny thing was, I was wishing that I knew of a place that had poses with a bugle. Coincidentally, I went to the 50% off pose sale at {Nantra} and I found one! It couldn’t have been more perfect for what I wanted to do.

A Class Act

November 4, 2016

A Class ActI have been loving shopping in Second Life a little too much lately! But how can a gal help it when there are such talented designers out there who make such exquisite things?

I don’t usually shop the N21 event, but there were a couple of dresses that caught my attention. One of these was from The Secret Store. I often love anything that Maylee Oh creates because the clothing usually seems to have a bit of a retro flair.

The Ribbon Heels I am wearing by Reign, are from a past Luxe Box. The brand was actually introduced to me through Luxe Box, a monthly subscription box, and I have loved every wonderful pair of shoes and boots I have received. Definitely another fantastic creator!

The part of this look I struggled with was the jewelry. I think this is what my inventory is most lacking in and it drives me crazy! I have never been one to buy a lot of jewelry, not even in RL. When I look for items, I look for versatile pieces that might go with a lot of clothing items and styles. The Aria earrings and necklace now at FaMeshed, were perfect. The set also has a choker and longer necklace which features color change metals and gemstones (another thing I look for in SL jewelry).

Who is your favorite SL jewelry designer?

I’m A Little Bit Gypsy

October 28, 2016

India Nadeau in Zaara

It’s been a few years since I blogged anything SL. I thought after how crazy this year has been for me in RL (good and bad) and since the winter months are coming, I needed to dabble in some creative things connected to SL again. So, I’m dusting this baby off!

The blog has a new look, to go with a new era in my blogging activity; though it will be subject to tweaking until I get it looking just right! Also, I have been experimenting with iMovie in order to make videos in Second Life. I recorded my first video showing off the most recent Luxe Box items, but I think I’m just going to treat it as practice and not post it. The thing was 1hr 11min!

Uh, I need to speed the hell up! Yea, wish me luck with that!

So, on to the outfit…

This Anisha Ruffle Blouse and Ziya Tiered Skirt is Zaara’s most recent release for October’s Collabor88. I have long been a fan of Zaara Kohime’s work. I believe the oldest piece that I have from her was created in 2008/09. Her textures are always exceptional, and her designs gorgeous. It’s always a treat to see her new creations.
